I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
